A THOUSAND JOYS (ATJ) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to gaining widespread acceptance for integrated mind/body approaches to health and wellness. We are leading the way in bringing together traditional and progressive knowledge and skills to create balanced programs that transform an organization’s culture. Unlike other services firms, we blend proven performance-based techniques with the latest advances in wellness and self-care.
Our team includes:
- Business experts with a demonstrated track record of success
- Psychologists and behavioral specialists who are leaders in creating innovative, comprehensive treatment services
- Accomplished practitioners in fields such as CAM (complementary and alternative methods), stress management, mind/body wellness, meditation, yoga, and more.
This one-of-a-kind convergence of business, psychology and complementary methods produces enduring results that far surpass the benefits derived from any single approach.
Organizations succeed when their workforce thrives.
Every business or nonprofit leader wants to build an organization in which each employee has a positive attitude, shares the same vision, feels energized and prepared to face daily challenges, constantly strives to grow and improve, and gains personal fulfillment from a job well done.
Organizations that successfully establish a culture of empowerment and optimism rise to the top of their fields and become models of productivity, innovation, and employee and client satisfaction.
In building a healthy workforce, different organizations face different challenges. A nonprofit whose staff works on the front lines of poverty and with clients who have experienced emotional and physical abuse must develop stress-management and self-care skills in order to prevent vicarious trauma. A technology company whose existence demands constant innovation and increases in productivity needs to find ways to optimize the creativity and effective communication of its staff.
ATJ has developed unique and proven solutions that address a variety of organizational challenges.
Healing is accelerated when treatment is comprehensive.
In collaboration with Children’s Institute Inc. (CII) and Good Shepherd Shelter, ATJ piloted an innovative treatment program supporting women and children who have experienced abuse, neglect and domestic violence. Our early findings indicate that when treatment programs combine wellness and traditional therapies, the healing timeline is accelerated by as much as 120%. Learn more about this program.
Additionally, our experts in pediatric medicine understand that accelerated healing occurs when nontraditional therapies are combined with traditional therapies to treat chronic pain. Whole Child LA brings together a team of leading specialists in integrative medicine and develops a multidisciplinary care plan that supports the child or adolescent from chronic pain to wellness.
