In addition to providing training and consultation services, ATJ is helping to foster, or “incubate,” innovative programs that promote the pivotal role of integrated mind/body approaches in restoring and maintaining health, well-being and productivity.
ATJ is also nurturing startup programs and organizations by providing:
- Business consultation
- Coaching and mentoring
- Financing and fundraising expertise
- Access to office space and facilities
We also believe there is strength in numbers and welcome others to join us in this effort.
ATJ Incubator Example: Whole Child LA (WCLA)
ATJ is actively shaping the development of a new concept in child healing services—Whole Child LA.
Whole Child LA builds on UCLA’s groundbreaking pediatric pain management program, winner of the American Pain Society’s _Center of Excellence in Pain Management Award_—-the only pediatric pain program nationally to receive this award in 2009.
According to WCLA’s founder, Lonnie Zeltzer, MD, “ATJ is supporting us in making our vision a reality. Their guidance and recommendations have driven the development of our business plan and created a solid foundation for our success.”
WCLA seeks to be the country’s premier provider of integrative mind-body treatment for children suffering pain, stress and many more disabling medical conditions. WCLA will be a model of family-focused mind-body care where:
- Pediatricians and other clinicians can learn to apply this new model
- State-of-the-art treatments are offered directly to children
- Public workshops are conducted in preventive mind-body care
The long-range goals are to improve overall quality of care for children who suffer from pain and other disabling symptoms, reduce the lifetime healthcare cost burden for this population, and ultimately transform health policy to ensure that an integrative mind-body approach to healthcare is available to all children.
WCLA’s services include medical, psychological and physical therapies as well as acupuncture, hypnotherapy, art therapy, music therapy, biofeedback, Reiki energy therapy, Iyengar yoga, craniosacral and massage therapies, and meditation. WCLA will also connect with the UCLA Pediatric Pain Research Program to serve as a clinical site for the design and testing of novel interventions.
